Judge Goodwine has demonstrated her devotion and passion for the law, commitment to excellence in her life, education and career, and strength and drive to excel at every level of the judiciary. Persevering through many obstacles, challenges and tragedies, it has been her lifelong goal to ascend Kentucky’s judicial hierarchy – and she is the most qualified candidate to serve on the Kentucky Supreme Court, 5th Appellate District. Upon election, she would be only the fifth person in Kentucky history to serve at all four levels of the judiciary.
Judge Goodwine’s entire career has been in the legal profession and she has worked hard every step of the way to learn all she possibly can and earn increasing levels of responsibility. In 2020, Judge Goodwine was nominated by then Chief Justice John Minton for the intensive Duke University School of Law Master of Laws program which she successfully completed in May of 2023.

Judicial elections are nonpartisan in Kentucky and the role of judges is to interpret the law fairly and administer justice consistently providing an equitable opportunity for all while upholding the ethics and integrity of the judiciary. Judge Goodwine has been a registered independent since she became a judge and always displays a strong work ethic along with honesty, integrity, ethics, perseverance and dedication to ensure justice for all.

In her 19 years of dedicated service as a trial judge, Judge Goodwine tried more cases than any trial judge in the 5th Appellate District in a wide variety of practice areas, including more capital murder cases than any judge in Kentucky. The advancing responsibilities throughout her career developed the skills to manage the many and varied responsibilities within the judiciary with increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Judge Goodwine’s record for service and justice is so increasingly well known and respected that she received even more votes when she ran unopposed in the 2022 election for the Court of Appeals than in 2018. Judge Goodwine is very grateful for your support and humbly asks for your vote in 2024!
